On one of the warmer days in February, we took our kids hiking at Fall Creek Falls State Park in Pikeville, Tennessee. The park is named after the highest free-fall waterfall east of the Mississippi River which is 256 feet tall. The park is 26,000 acres and has numerous walking and biking trails. There is also a lodge, camp sites, cabins, a restaurant, playgrounds, and a swimming pool. Other outdoor activities include zip lining, golfing, or taking a canoe on the lake. The park was a lot bigger than we had originally thought and it had a lot of different activities that you can do with the kids. Below are some photos of the beautiful views of Fall Creek Falls State Park.
A beautiful view of the creekFall Creek Falls, the highest free-fall waterfall east of the Mississippi River. We experienced 8 deer running in the woods in their natural environment. One of the suspension bridges. This one goes over to the Nature Center. This is the view from the lookout at The Nature Center. An awesome view of the water and the suspension bridge. They are on the bottom platform of the overlook. I had climbed down the rocks to get better pictures. This is the view from underneath the suspension bridge.View of the cascade from the rocks I climbed down. One of the overlooks from the trail. If you look across you can see people standing at the other lookout. That is where the Nature Center is and the suspension bridge.I was sitting on a rock in the creek and looked up and seen this view, which I thought was so serene. The other suspension bridge on the Piney Creek trail. It takes you to the lower loop trail where you can hike down to the Piney Creek Fall itself. This was a lookout on the scenic drive.Another lookout on the scenic drive.
