Our second day on the cruise ship was our day at sea while the ship went from St. Thomas to Barbados. There is so much to do while aboard the ship, there are numerous activities, all the food you can eat, shows, games, multiple pools and hot tubs, or you can just stay in your room and watch TV or take a nap.
Carnival Liberty sets sail from San Juan, Puerto Rico and makes the same loop every week.
This is looking back at the boat and the San Juan port from the 12th level, which is the top deck.
A view of San Juan port from the cruise ship.
This is a view from the Lido deck (9th level) looking down onto the 3rd level. Those are the glass elevators that you can take between floors. There are numerous sets of elevators throughout the ship.
This is the entrance to Camp Carnival. It is where they have different activities for the kids, for instance, one morning you could go eat breakfast with Dr. Seuss.
The lido deck is where we spent most of our time on the ship. This is the 24 hour ice cream machine and you can also see part of the buffet, that is where breakfast and lunch is served. Also, there are 24 hour drink machines that have lemonade, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and juice. Pizzas and burgers are also available 24 hours. This is all included in the cruise price and is no extra charge.
We were located on level 2 of the ship. This is the hallway that our rooms were located on. We had two rooms, an interior room and a room with a window.
This is the interior room that mom and little man shared.
This is our window room that Chris and I shared with little miss.
We all loved sitting or laying in the window.
Every night we had a different towel animal on our bed. The kids looked forward to seeing what they got each night. The first night was a dog. Along with the towel animal you get an itinerary of the next day’s activities, shows, and games so you can plan ahead if there is something you want to see or do.
On Tuesday, our day at sea, they had a class on how to fold towel animals. This was the display of the animals as soon as you walked into the auditorium.
Look at them on stage learning how to fold different animals! Right after the class, there was a towel animal puppet show that was really cute and worth going to.
She absolutely loved the cruise!
Everyone had a great time at the day at sea. It was beautiful looking out and only seeing the blue ocean.
On Tuesday night, we had our Captain’s dinner where we had to dress up. For about an hour, the Captain came down to the 5th level where you could shake his hand and have your picture made with him.
Every night dinner is served in one of the two main dinning halls. There are a couple of different options, you can have an assigned dinner time at either 6pm or 8pm, or you can get the dinner package where you can come and eat any time you want. We decided since we had to be back on the ship at 4:30 pm every afternoon that we might as well have the assigned 6pm dinner time. We had the same table and the same waiters every night. On this particular night, they played music and people were up dancing. It was so much fun. As you can see here, Little miss is dancing with our main waiter, Arnold.
On Tuesday night we decided to go to “Just Rock” that was performed in the auditorium. They have two shows, one at 8pm and one at 10pm. We decided to go to the 8 pm show, so we did not keep the kids up late.
“Just Rock” had music and dancing from different decades. Here is the 1950’s.
This was the 1970’s music during “Just Rock” It was a great show, and one that we would watch again.
On the TV in your room there is a channel that shows the ship’s speed and a map of exactly where you are. This was when we were almost in Barbados. It is the furthest south we have been so far.
On this particular night, the kids got a frog towel animal.
A Picture in one of the dining areas. I love that you can eat and look out the window at the ocean.
This is another night at our 6pm dinner. Every night they had a different menu and they served an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert. We had two waiters from the Philippines and one from Bosnia and they were absolutely amazing!! By the end of the week, we felt like we got to know them personally.
On this night, the kids got a dinosaur towel animal.
Most nights, they play bingo in the main auditorium. We did not play but lil man wanted to watch people play bingo.
They gave away awesome prizes, for example, free excursions or money.
Here is another picture from our 6pm dinner. One of the waiters made her a mouse towel animal to play with.
The boys had fun playing chess on the 10th level of the ship.
The kids got a stingray towel animal this night!
On the last night of the cruise, they had a “Legends” show, this is where guests on the ship could dress up and sing. This is one of the acts from the show.
This guy was on the excursion with us at St. Lucia. He said he was going to perform as Ricky Martin in the “Legends” show.
“Elvis” performing at the “Legend’s show.
Here are all the performers of the “Legends” show lined up on the stage.
No words can describe standing on one of the top decks of the ship looking up at the moon in the middle of the ocean where there is no land or lights in sight.
The ship lit up at night, everyone is in bed and there is not a single person standing out on the ship. It was a beautiful view.
